‘The Wire’ Creator Calls for More Socialism

TV producer David Simon has just produced a very long and passionate essay for The Guardian in which he argues that economic inequality in the United States has increased to the point that there are two Americas today, in socioeconomic terms, and that Karl Marx’s diagnosis of the causes of economic problems are correct even though his solutions were not.

Running for Cover When Atheists Demand Proof of God’s Existence

It is amazing to me that when atheists demand proof of God’s existence the majority of Christians run for cover when it should be the other way around. Since the dawn of human history God has been on trial by inquisitive finite minds that cannot accept the reality of His existence.

A Challenge to Our Beliefs

Depressing news about black students scoring far below white students on various mental tests has become so familiar that people in different parts of the ideological spectrum have long ago developed their different explanations for why this is so. But both may have to do some rethinking, in light of radically different news from England.

Rissa Arias

Now that atheists have begun “church services for atheists” in London they are exporting the practice to the United States of America, Canada and Australia. However, they cannot help themselves but to imitate Christian assemblies in the way they conduct their services. They celebrate life, listen to speakers’ dissertations on a variety of sermon-like messages, they sing, play music, have readings, and many other interactions like Christian services do.

Liberty University Denied its Liberty

In 1971, Pastor Jerry Falwell, Sr. established Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., now the largest Christian University in the world. Falwell founded the school with the hopes of empowering students to “go out in all walks of life to impact this world for God.” The school’s colors are red, white and blue. It’s no wonder, then, that when this freedom-loving institution faced the Affordable Care Act’s employer mandate, which would force them to provide their workers health insurance or else face a fine, they responded by launching several challenges against the provision.

Thanksgiving and God

On Thursday, September 24, 1789, the First House of Representatives voted to recommend—in its exact wording—the First Amendment to the states for ratification. The next day, Friday, September 25, Congressman Elias Boudinot from New Jersey proposed that the House and Senate jointly request of President Washington to proclaim a day of thanksgiving for “the many signal favors of Almighty God.”

Thankful for Property

Had today’s politicians and opinion-makers been in power four centuries ago, Americans might celebrate “Starvation Day” this week, not Thanksgiving.

Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamations to Remember

History is such a great teacher only when we pay attention to the past; ignoring it can only spell painful tragedy. The past is as important as the present and the future. These United States of America did not arrive at the present tumultuous condition overnight. Slice by slice the American past has been carved away by those who think they can build on a different and strange national foundation.

Readjust Your Focus This Thanksgiving Day

Do you really think that Thanksgiving is about Indians, turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, squash, baked breads mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and all the trimmings for a lavish dinner to be enjoyed with family and friends? Is it the only time of year for feeding the poor? Is that what Thanksgiving is all about?

For more than six thousands years of recorded social human history men have been making laws to govern other men. Very well, I get that much. How do they come up with these laws? Is it because they are sincere and pure at heart to know what is best for their fellow men? If so, why do these laws always turn out to be for the worst and only lead their beloved race to a collapse?

2008 Acknowledgment of America’s Biblical Foundation

Affirming the rich spiritual and religious history of our Nation’s founding and subsequent history and expressing support for designation of the first week in May as `American Religious History Week’ for the appreciation of and education on America’s history of religious faith.

Tackling the Real War on Women

“Women are constantly degraded on campus. They are valued for their looks, bodies, and sexual prowess—not their minds. They are often required to watch hardcore porn in class and encouraged to participate in “porn star lookalike” contests during “Sex Week,” the biggest event of the year…[this is] a real war on women—and it’s being waged by sexual liberationists who control the academy.”
